About 5 years ago, I made a bridge over the creek that runs through my property. I used an old car hauler trailer.

We had a large amount of rain this year and part of the bank on one end started to slump on me. Here is the start. You can see it is a few feet from the top of the banks in this picture:

We then topped the 100 year record for rainfall and on one of the storms, the creek topped the banks, worsening the issue. You can see in the following pictures the normal level of the creek. Banks are probably 15 to 20 feet deep at this crossing.

Over Thanksgiving, I had access to a backhoe and was able to repair the bridge.

Here are a few pics:

12 inch I beam- 25 footer cut in half and welded to piers set in concrete 4 foot deep, 160 pounds of concrete per hole.

Time for the heavy lifting

Even with the backhoe, I had to use my tractor to assist and pull the bridge straight.

tested with the tractor on it and had to put a few 4X6's in to drive up on. Dirt ramp from iron ore and it was done.

In the past I have driven my cruiser over this bridge. One crazy mofo took his truck with a hay buggy and 6 round bales over it a few years ago. Since the repair I have taken my tractor and welding trailer over it. No shifting and welds held. Mainly it is used to drive the UTV over.
