My 1999 has a screeching noise inside the truck. It seems to be close to the drivers side when I push on the brake it does it. It comes and goes doesn't stay long and it doesnt to seem to affect anything yet but it is pretty annoying..Just seeing if anyone else has ran into this??

Well it has seemed to go away at this point. It's the second day I drove the truck full time. The truck sat for a few months that's when it started doing it. Should I still be worried?

Yup you should be worried. @DirtDawg has you pointed in the right, but unfortunate, direction. The MC assemblies seem to hate sitting. Never an issue on either of my 99's until I let one sit for a month and then I had the screech. I put it off but the screech started showing up more frequently on start-up. One day at the bottom of a driveway it decided to give up. I stopped, very slowly albeit, without issue.

It took a lot of slow, careful driving to get it to my mechanic for repair. If I would've had to deal with any traffic I would've had it towed. I live in a very rural area so poking was not an issue. I was glad to have 4.88 gears to help slow my roll too. Would've been disastrous on a trail or on a public road.

Like @tabraha said this is not an item that you should "wait til it breaks". Read the couple articles that I posted and use the search tool to read more. I just typed in "brake noise" or "brake screeching" and got those results instantly. But this is not a problem to stay idle on. Read up and take a course of action so your cruiser won't strand you.

Great thanks tons but I just have one more question can the pump motor be rebuild? I can't see exactly a yes or no

I haven't read up much, or had this happen to me, but from what I scanned real quick, no. The MC can be rebuilt (seals), but not the pump.

My guy thought it was a rebuild job until he cracked it open and quickly said I was going to have to by the whole thing pretty much. I can't remember the rationale.

Someone found a rebuilder for the booster/motor on the west coast. Might find it with the search tool on this forum. I've read that the '03 4Runner is the same part #. Probably an easier find at a wrecking yard than a Cruiser. Lower miles would be best.
