prep

I am using por 15 silver. Spraying it on.
I have degreased it (marine clean), and etched it (metal ready)
and have applied 2 coats on some areas of the floorboards.
got to get more paint tomorrow to finish. the por 15 should
seal the floorboards until next summer when I will do a light sand
and prime and paint. It will be cool weather soon and I will be heading to the florida keys for the winter. so "Boxer" will be waiting for me when I return in the spring.

I am on hold until next spring. Getting ready to head south for the winter to Key Largo, Fl. So she will have to wait until next spring. I have replaced the rear seal on the body in the rear.
Will probably start next spring, doing a light sand on the floorboards so I can apply a primer, will seal the seams and do some leveling on some of the pitting in the floorboards. Work up to the dash, the radio slot is going to have to have some welding work. Picked up a new radiator and some good seats for later install. The last picture is before I put a new rear seal and did some metal replacement in the rear

This is the work that was done before I started on the the floorboards, put a new rear seal in and put in some metal on the rear. I have all the parts I need for this crusier, at least those I know it needs. All I have to acquire is a new front bumper. Probably a better condition steering wheel. and new tires. But those are last on the list since this wont be finished for quite awhile.

Wow! that looks really good! What is the paint your using for the rust preventitive? I need to do the same work on my 40. I think im going to get her running first but am going to keep tabs on what your doin, mine is also a '75 :) Also what r u using to sand the floor boards? i was wanting to use a sand blaster but dont have one and messy, i have a couple of layers to take down. R you also going back in w 10 gauge steel on your quarter panels? I know lots of questions but i like what i see, looks great!

rust prevent

I used a air die grinder with scotchbrite pad on it first then where It needed it I used a sanding disc on the same tool. Then used the por 15 degreaser, then the por 15 metal etch preparer, then
sprayed por 15 grey rust prevent paint. the gauge metal is 16 gauge
