So, my 40 was hit tonite and I'm working on a list of things to check out for damage. Feel free to chime in with any recommendations. https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/682099-my-40-hit-tonite.html#post8231665

Seeing how it was hit and the recommendations on the forum, I will probably take it to a shop to have the frame professionally checked out. Any recommendations for a local shop to do that? Thanks.

bummer on the hit. I don't know anything about the shops in Bozeman. first insurance estimate will be LOW. It seems they don't appreciate the old iron like us.
Chances are the insurance is only going to pay for aftermarket replacement pieces.

I was looking at CCOT website and their website shows some Japanese style turn signals that are an upgrade to OEM. Anyone used these and have any comments to compare?

Following a long drawn out event and some soul searching with a growing family we sold the FJ40. It will be replaced by a 100 series that can safely carry the whole family.

In the meantime, my Trooper will become my trail rig until it sells. As time and funds permit the 100 may get built down the road.

Time, space, and family all to juggle.

did it sell locally?

The 40 is supposed to ship out of state by the end of the week and hopefully by Saturday I will pick up my new cruiser.

The 40 left for Miami yesterday. It was sad to let it go. Frame was bent, body damage, and rust. It just needed too much work. The 100 is on its way as we speak. Can't wait to see it tonite. It will be a brand new experience for owning a Land Cruiser. I've always had 40's, a 55, and 60 series. A 100 is a whole new breed.
