Well I've never been an addict of any sort but after driving this thing for about 2 1/2 weeks, I can already tell that I'm going to have to pull a lot of fast ones on my wife. This is a 2004 in Galactic Grey Mica with almost 83k miles now. It has NAV, DVD, Tow Pkg., and is basically dent free. The dealer did a major service including timing belt, H2O pump, brakes, CV boots, wipers, fluids, and brand new Nitto (for Walmart) tires. Since my wife had so much remorse for my previous truck, her and I agreed that I would take it slow with the modifications and that we would talk about each one before spending any money. At the end of the day it has to something that she feels comfortable driving around town and it can't be too loud. Those rules should be easy to follow.
So far I have ordered and installed lift struts for the hood and the lift gate. I got them from Mr. Lou's. I have ordered WeatherTech Digital Fit for the whole thing. I got a great deal from a guy that knows a guy. I also ordered a Brake Controller since I'll be towing a little travel trailer that belongs to a buddy this upcoming weekend. Today I might have made the best "free" modification by removing the running boards. I looks awesome but is now screaming for tires, slider-steps, and a medium lift. All in due time.
Overall I'm loving this thing. I thought I would be a full-size truck guy for life but this LC is making me quickly forget about my big 'ol diesel. I've already towed the boat (4000lbs.) about 80 miles total and this LC was just great on the highway and at the launch ramp. Mileage is great as long as I'm not paying for diesel fuel. My dog (Beau, Weimaraner) has already tested the cargo area. He pee'd,
but had plenty of room. In a few months I plan on bringing home my first born from the hospital in it because it is built like a brick sh**house.
Lastly I'll say that this site is awesome. It has helped me do a lot of research on 80's and 100's and ultimately lead me to this vehicle. I look forward to sharing with as many of you as possible and I hope to meet as many of you as possible during some sort of South West or Pacific Coast adventure. I will be in Gorman, CA for the Toys for Tots fundraiser next weekend.
