my wife and i got taxed out of the house we built a few years back...we were blessed to sell it and downsize to a 1200sf home and taxes are creaping up to the point of us just making it.

we are considering the TN/NC border area.

Is there better places than others around there? we are not city type people nor way out country.

The wife likes to be near towns that may have good parks and she calls "quaint towns"

Murphy,NC looks like a nice town and on the TN side Athens has a really nice park.

I vote Asheville NC or Chattanooga TN... vicinity I will second the vote in Athens TN, or cleveland TN. if you like 5 light towns... Try Dunlap or Pikeville... No emmissions crap in these towns... Plus the market is in the toilet so you can buy homes at killer deals.

Best of all you are only like 1-3 hours from wheeling, tons of locations.
