What is the best way to clean all the mud out of the engine bay and off of the engine, if i were to steam clean it would that work or am i going to have to get in there and scrub it all off?

Thanks Mark, I can make it a step cleaner.

Spray down the dry engine bay with Simple Green (not the stuff made from people). Let it soak for 10-15 minutes. Start the engine and rinse the engine with water (leave the engine running while spraying). It is not necessary to use the high pressure hose with this method.

If you want a show room shine use a can of engine detail spray found at most auto parts stores, but this is not necessary because it will get just as dirty next time you wheel.

I learned to do it after dealership and warranty problems. Now I have no problems with a clean engine (and swapping out my 35" tires to stock when in for service).

I use the engine and tire degreeser at my local self service car wash.

That was Soylent Green were the human population was the secret ingredient in the Soylent food. :p One of Charlton Heston's better movies. :D

After a steam cleaning and some scrubbing with simple green the engine looks like it just came off the show room floor, i was supprised at how clean it looks.

Glad you took the advice. I use it when taking my rig in for warranty service. I tend to get a lot of denials before having to fight to get stuff done. New inner fenders are next.

BTW. As a kid my father was stationed @ NAS Miramar. He was with VF-302 at hanger 5. I spent most of my summers there before it went to USMC.
