Hi guys! I'm new here and a bit of a newbie when it comes to 4x4. Happy owner of a 105 Land Cruiser 4.5L 1998 late 1FZ-FE. What an amazing car! :) Much cooler than most other cars I've tried :) I love this forum, and I have learned so much here. Now I wonder if anyone here knows a little about the ignition system of this car? Is the following possible?

Now, I wish to modify the ignition system from the original ECU controlled system using 3 coils.

What I want to do is: to install 3 MSD 8201 coils to replace the stock coils and to install the MSD Street Fire 5520 to enable capacitive discharge ignition (CDI).

Here are the product URL:s
Street Fire Ignition - 5520
Pro Power Coil - 8201

They are not the fattest stuff from MSD, but I want to keep a budget to get a pure CDI. Is my choice of equipment from MSD okay? I have already bought some of it, but then realised that I need more than one coil lol. I attach a pic of the engine what it looks like now. :)

Lots of light!

petrot40k, thank you so much for your reply!
I'll try with the 80 series-guys as I saw a few posts mentioning the 1FZ-FE there...

I have a repair manual though and it says my version has no distributor, and the only circuit schematic they included was for the 2UZ-FE, so I guess my stock ignition is the same as the 2UZ-FE, but I might be wrong...
