Hey just wanted to ask if anyone is mounting bikes inside their rigs. I’m keen to bring my bike to Moab this year but don’t want to hitch mount it. I know there are some options for removing the front tire and using a axle mount. @CCRider i think you have done this before?

Any pics, suggestions or brands would be of interest and might save me some headache as I get into this.

Ooohhh me too! Might get one of these, attach to a 2x4 and jerry-rig to the floor somehow

i had one of those thru axel mounts on the back of my FJC for a while. they are pretty slick. just find the correct one for you quick release and they have flat spot with holes to mount it. so easy even i can do it! i just drilled some holes in my ladder and this was sturdy. easily something you could use on the inside

im just using this as an opportunity to post my color matched huffy that used to match the FJC

Kuat Dirtbag FTW!
Or, remove front wheel, tie down with ratchet straps.

My fat bike I have a 2x4 with eyelets in it. I do a tie down on each side of the bars and I can get my fat bike in. Otherwise I use a thule rack when the road is not super cruddy.

while were on the subject of MTBs and fat bikes. i found a picture of my OG pack mule pug from back in 2017. thought id share because this thing was sick coolest winter commuter in bozeman when i was into that. it had a shotgun mount on it at one point when you could still bird hunt up at hylite without freaking the hippies out

I would totally buy that thing if it was for sale.

I sold it ages ago. Was sad to see it go but made some hippy very happy. Also weighted about 120 lbs because all steel everything

Steel bikes are great! They are heavy yes, but when you grind some miles on them and then you jump on a carbon bike it is like you have some serious turbo power. It is weird because I love cycling, but I also love internal combustion. I should be a full hippie, but I have too many contradictions. Personally, I would buy the bike for the moon shine water bottle. That is just the sweetest added touch.
