So my LC got hit a year ago. All good LC repair, excuse for mods and improvements, now for Christmas my lovely wife is giving me a dash cam. We had to get highway cams to show why the idiot that hit me was at fault. She was like, "that took to much of your time." Me: Yeah, I know but I was right so...

Anyway she is giving me a dash cam. Garmin don't know much more than that (it's not Christmas yet.) other than it plugs into the computer to provide power.

Me being me...over thinking everything and getting excessively ready...

Where and How did and how did you mount your dash cam.

Pics appreciated

Just picked up a viofo a139 and will be making this same journey soon. I do remember seeing a thread about this maybe last year around this time. Did you search?

I have a Thinkware U1000 with rear camera. The first photo below shows my older camera, but I mounted the U1000 in the same spot just below the rear view mirror mount slightly on the passenger side. You can run an add-a-fuse to power the camera from any of the fuse panels (under driver dash, under glove box, main box in front of battery, etc.). I am also running Cellink NEO batteries, so I have my power going to that from the main fuse box. The batteries are located in the glove box (second picture, shows 1 battery but I know have 2) and there's a second wire going to the main front camera. There's then a wire from the main camera running back above the passenger side headliner back to the rear camera (last picture).

If it's the Garmin dashcam I've seen, it's a NICE unit.

Mounting should be pretty straightforward. I'd say put it up by the rear view mirror where it's not in your line of sight but you can duck to see the screen if you want to adjust anything (assuming it's the same Garmin dashcam I've seen). I hate having any extra BS in my line of sight, but there's plenty of space up there to get it out of the way and get a good camera angle.

.. also running Cellink NEO batteries, ...

Just FYI you can fit that battery Under the glove box. Under the glove box the panel comes off easily.

Nice setup.

Thank. I don't think you can with two which is why I have them in glove box. And, easy access to charge if my car sits a long time and I want to take them out to charge. But, I'll look and see if it's possible. Thanks for the heads up.
