I want to mount my CB antenna to the ARB bull bar on my FJ80.

It seems like all the photos I see show people with various antennas mounted to the top bar of the bull bar. My bull bar has two light tabs on the lower bar with 1/2" holes. The upper mounts are gusseted (they are braced better) and have larger holes - 5/8", I think.

Trouble is, all the stud mounts that I find call for a 1/2" hole. This presents a problem as I don't want the mount to shift in the hole and ground out the antenna.

Are the upper mounts intended for lights or antennas? Why does ARB sell a clamp-on CB antanna mount - are the built-in mounts not intended for antennas?

What's the deal?

have you considered maybe finding a washer or even a collar of some type to fit the inside diameter of the whole minus the 1/2" antenna bolt. this way when tightened down you would have some sort of shim to close the gap, i might be out of line but a thought.

You're not out of line at all...

I actually have my antenna mounted there now with a plastic washer that I trimmed to fit into the hole to reduce it some.

It seems to be pretty solid but I would still rather use the correct stud mount if it exists, though. I don't want problems on down the road.
