All mountain bikes are what riders think are cool (and are)

Eh... that depends on the shop you walk into... if you see spandex/lycra all around then yes... If you walk in and see baggy pants and trucker hats then that is a different story.

Being blessed with living near Lake Tahoe, I have a good selection of shops to hit for just about anything I want, from full on roadies only to full on DH gnar-fest type shops! Oh and with YT Industries being based out of Sparks, NV I get to see some very nice YT bikes on the trails, and damn are those things BURLY!

I'm not sure. All the lbs around here carry more of those tires than 26ers. I don't get it but I didn't get 29ers 7 years ago either. I'm not super pow full and old so the extra weight and lack of cushy suspension keep turning me away
