I've purchased this product with universal adapter kit (PEL-1101) I see no way to attach this to the resivior of a 2000 Lacncruiser. The hooks which attach to the cap are simply not wide enough to even clear the width of the resivior and MC. Has anyone used this product on a 2000 LC?
I have not used it on a 100 series at all but I have on the 80 and many other rigs. I cant imagine it would not work; between the ridiculously long hook bolts and the length of chain, I have to screw the hook bolts' wing nuts down as low as they will go just to get a pressure tight seal. Am I missing something, perhaps a pic will help me visualize. It is an amazing tool though; in general I prefer the regular pump and bleed method but whenever my wife and i have tried to do that the result was ugly ... nothing more frustrating than towards the end of the bleeding and the wife lets her foot up before you tell her and draws air in!!! Anyway, if you can snap a shot, I can probably figure out what's wrong for you. HTH
I'm new on this board and will try to post a picture. I can't see any way to use the hooks and chain provided to be secure the cap to the resivior. The chain is nowhere long enough and even it was the width between the hooks in is not wide enough to clear the resivior and the stuff attached to the side of the MC. Hope this picture is available to you.
Hey, I got an idea, would anyone with a digital camera and 100 series just snap a shot real quick of the brake fluid reservoir so I can see what's wrong with the powerbleeder? Or, perhaps post a link showing the 100 engine. Thanks, I'm looking too.
As an alternative, get another screw on cap for the 100 (I think 100s use a screw on cap). Then get a hose fitting and drill a hole in the cap. Epoxy the fitting into the cap, attach the tubing from the power bleeder with ahose clamp, screw on the reservoir and let it bleeeeeed. The motive power bleeder is one of my all-time favorite tools. Hope this helps!
I've also thought about just getting another cap and doing exactly what you've suggested. the cap really isin't screw on however, it's a push down and slight turn, I don't believe it woud stay on under presure. I could email the pictures to you.
Okay, now I understand, the "universal" cap on the power bleeder will probably not work with that reservoir. Man that thing is huge! I would suggest calling power motive and simply getting the screw on cap that they offer. Then attach the cap to the hose with a hose clamp instead of with that crimp that power motive uses. This is what I do to power bleed my Toyotas and then my Benzes - with the Toyotas I use the universal doohicky and then with the Benzes a screw on cap that power motive supplied for free IIRC. Anyway, piece o cake just swap the correct caps, or perhaps just keep the screw on on permanently. HTH
