OK its mine. ;)

Time to let 'er go to make some room for another project. I dont even want to think of what I spent on it much less how much I'll loose even if I get the reserve of 15k.

No doubt about it, you can buy 'em cheaper than than you can build 'em. Best of luck on the sale.

Again, best of luck with the sale of it! She's a beaut Clark! Certianly not a tenament on wheels! Love the wider tires!

What a shame to sell. 2 thumbs up for that restoration.

OMG that thing is unreal !!

I'm dealing with a similar dilemma right now with a BJ42 that I pumped about $25,000 into. But, if you figure the fun you had at $50/HR, then you are still way ahead of the game.

Yes, that is one beautiful 40! But what really makes an awsome truck is whats done to it. Your right-up says nothing about gears, lockers, air, is that a complete rebuild on the 2F, is that a header I see, what kind of carb is that? Is she a stock resto or close to stock? Remember beauty is only skin deep.

jeffj40..

Just wanted you to know that your 40 was the subject and result of a near panic attack for my wife. I told her I wanted it, and was ready to make the call.. She doesn't understand 40s, and wants a "newer" car.

Compliments to you and what you did to the 40.. It's going to make the new owner very happy

Sorry about that....it is a sickness no one quite understands.

If you are in the market for a 40, like delta21 said ,"its cheaper to buy them then to build them". Pay a little more and find one that someone else has spent all their free time working on so you can spend yours driving it.

Good Luck!

I bought Jeffj40's FJ!

Hi all,

As way of introducing myself to this forum, I am the one that bought Jeff's supper cool 76 FJ40!!!

I've snooped around and see that I have much to learn in the ways of the FJ, and look forward to much interaction!

My story begins with a wife that informed me last year that she wanted a vehicle that she could go "mudding in". Well, I was quite surprised and we started looking. Nothing seemed to be what she wanted, but finally one day she settled on the Toyota FJ40 as the desired vehicle. She looked at many on Ebay but the day she found this one she was sold. I was able to win this one and have it shipped from NJ to Chugiak Alaska just in time for
X-mas!!! We picked it up from the Dock in Anchorage and I drove it home to Chugiak (about 20 miles north of Anchorage) and Garaged it. A new bumper/fender guard from ARB is ordered and a new winch will be soon enough!

So the next step will be to teach my wife to drive a standard transmission, and I guess... how to properly use a winch...

She will have the fun of it:steer:, and I get to fix it and keep it running  sounds perfect!!!

Well I'm sure I'll have a question or two, but that's all for now!!!

Carl

Hey Carl. A mighty :flipoff2:welcome to you & the :princess: There is an easy way to avoid using the winch - just don't go wheeling with Jeeps;)

Welcome aboard Carl and :flipoff2::flipoff2:(offical mud welcome i understand).

Look man, any woman that says she "wants" a 40 and "wants" to go wheeling....is a KEEPER!!!

She have a sister? (ok, the wife's going to officilly kill me now!)

All joking aside, great buy on that cruiser, enjoy:cheers:
