Now what do I do?
I just bought yet another Toyota 4wd. We now have four Toyotas in our driveway, and three of them are 4wd. It is a sickness. The one that is not 4wd is as good as sold. It's out of here!
My lady has been envious of the 4wd Tercel tall wagons since they were new. The model has been on her short list of models that she would like to own. This one is especially clean.
After the cruiser meet, we spotted one for sale. We went over and quickly bought it. There were two parties behind us ready to buy it if we were to decline. We sent them home!
Now, I get to use the lifted 4wd van as a working truck. :bounce:
I can reserve the real truck for family outings and wheeling trips. The Land Cruiser is saved!
I would rather put the daily wear on the cheap cars. It works for me. At 14 MPG, it is all for the best

Your situation sounds familiar. Two Cruisers and an '86 Tercel 4WD are the vehicles with transfer cases. The :princess: drives an xB.

X 2 on pics.

You may be my long lost adopted brother...

I don't think my pics would look like those! But I laughed my a$$ off!
My 80 is set up to look as stock as possible with a 3" lift. The 35's fill the fenders so that it doesn't look modified. The bumpers and winch blend into the body so that if you weren't all Cruiserheads, you would think it was stock. Everybody else does!
That's what I have always done, build quiet sleepers. My Celica (sold, maybe) looks stock and a bit shabby. It has been known to literally smoke both rear tires in fifth gear at 55 MPH! It is just a "stock" Celica GTS! No big deal. It just has a "bit" of port, chamber, and manifold work. Like a week's worth of work on the stock head and manifolds.
My '80 Honda Accord was just a faded red old car. Just an old car. It was re-geared and ported and polished. It ran like a bat out of hell! Gears 1-4 were low and fast. Fifth was a bit of a rev-stretch. Once I got to 5th, I could run at 85-90 MPH all night at 1500 RPM. At that speed, I could get 40-45 MPG. I should never have sold that old car! It looked like $hit, nobody would steal it, and it ran like a bat out of hell! It also had the coldest AC that I have ever had. At 380,000 miles, the only original system on the car was the AC. It would freeze beer at the vents. Not that I would have a beer while driving. Maybe at rest stops?
My wife just scored one of the first of the Tercel wagon 4wd's. She was willing to give up one of only 3200 4wd Toyota Vans that were ever imported into the U.S., to have the car.
When we went to look at the old car, she refused. She teaches. It was the weekend before the start of school. She had not yet had a paycheck. "It is the worst possible weekend to buy a car", she said
When she saw the 4wd wagon, her response was "I don't care, I want it now!"
I was in trouble! It was all cash. Where would I get it?
More importantly, this car is 25 years old! It is what she wants most, but how old is it? After purchase, I checked it out. It is very clean at 154,000 miles.
So my 4x4's are a sleeper lifted 80 LC rolled-over wreck, a rare 4wd Toyo van and a girly 4wd Tercel wagon, driven by my best lady.
My non-Toyota, & 2wd vehicles are...none!
All of my cars and trucks are Toyota and all are 4wd.

You have a lifted 80, 4wd Toyo van and 4wd Tercel wagon. 3 Toyotas here so far, and they are all 4wd. What model is your 4th Toyota? We know it is not a 4wd, and you also have no 2wd vehicles. What is it?
