The PO installed an aftermarket stereo in my 99 with a pre-made wiring adapter. The only sound broadcasting from this set up was at the subwoofer--all the door speakers are silent (the speakers haven't been removed).
I've been pulling my hair out trying to get the rest of the speakers to work. I purchased and installed an OEM single disc player; just like the aftermarket setup the only speaker with sound is the subwoofer--all other features work.
I've checked the factory amp and nothing seem amiss with the wiring.
I'm now back at the head unit trying to figure out if something has been messed with. The wiring harnesses don't appear to have been tampered with. Because I'm not the original owner it's hard to know what happened.
The diagram below is what the back of my head unit looks like:
Two questions:
(1) Should there be a connector into port P750 (on the left)? There are no loose wires or unplugged connectors in the dash. It was my understanding that P750 was for controlling a disc changer...my 99 was not equipped with a disc changer. Can anyone with a 99 remember if there was a connector for P750?
(2) Does anyone have the color codes for the wires for port P500? I've seen some posted on mud for different model years (which have more wires) and some posted on the net which are contradictory and seem to have no resemblance to how mine are currently set up. My stereo functions perfectly--it's just the front right, front left and rear/right and rear left speakers with now sound.
