Any detailed information or pictures about drilling stock H/FJ-60 ps pump so that it works better when idle or low rpm. And what about spring? Someone told that with 2mm washer it gives much more pressure? Just want to upgrade it safe way so that it doesnt blow up when pushing hard with 36"x12,5" swamppers.

http://www.westtexasoffroad.com has a writeup on mods for a GM pump...other manufacturers should be similar. I've got mine modded, works well.

Also, source a smaller pully for it, that helps keep pump speeds higher at idle.

There is a thread somewhere (pirates I think) about hotroding the toyota pump. A couple of my buddies have done it with good success.

You really want to do this mod if you are going to use a rock ram. If you fishtail and want to correct it really sucks to have to wait for the ram to fill while the ass-end of the rig is coming around. Don't ask me how I know.
