Guys, just got off the phone w/ local dealer. Called to order some early parts, but got nowhere.

A quick list of stuf I wanted and have ordered previously, but is NLA...
21209-60010 carb float
90404-51023 Union fitting, vac pipe
04211-60110/60114 carb kit
21271-60150 idle mix screw

My local dealer is not always real motivated to find difficult parts, which is why I always give them the PN's.

Has anybody else bought any of these carb parts recently anywhere?
Any sources other than toyota, especially for the 1-bbl carb float?

Edit: I just called em back and ordered a couple of the 60086 carb kit, which are for E-~65 SD40. But the 60110 for the 66-69 1bbl is definitely not available to him.

i used to use partsvoice:

you have to register (I forgot my info, used a dealers) but you can search other dealers in network. The main problem was that Toyota offered a credit 5-6 years ago to dealers to return unsold items. These parts were NEVER put back into inventory but instead dumped and sold for scrap.

....I heard that the Ontario warehouse had giant dumpsters full of stuff going out for months.

Thanks Rick. Just tried it, but no parts found

That makes me :frown: and  and  all at once.

Every month at American Toyota we get what is called a "returns list". There are actually 2 lists: A list 1 and a List 2. The list 1 stuff gets picked and packed back up and gets shipped back to our Parts Distribution Center (ours is in Kansas City). Theseparts are then put back into stock and sold to other dealers--we get a credit. Generally, parts that are sent back are between 10-12 months old and were not sold in that time period.

List 2 is a bit trickier. These are parts with the same shelf time frame. These get picked and packed and then sent to the PDC in Kansas City and then they are county, we get our credit and then they are taken out to the dumpster and thrown away or given to scrap dealers.

We do this every month as do all other dealers in the United States.

I have, in the past, "saved" some parts from certain destruction.

But most of the time, I cannot.

That's the way Toyota USA runs their parts system.

Sorry to disappoint.

EDIT: We can get some of the above parts Jim. :)
