I have owned two fj40's in the past and it would be my dream to buy a third and restore it. I think this body (mine) is past those days though. 
So I am considering a new FJ. I would use it for winter driving and for occasional trips up into the hills for sightseeing and picnicking. So I would say snow would be my primary challenge.
So what factory add-ons or after market add-ons should I consider to maximize performance in the snow? Please make your suggestions.
Tires for sure, which ones do you like keeping snow and clearance in mind.
Lift kit recommendation? Does it compromise safety?
Winch, what's the favorite these days?
Beefed up bumper for when I ram things (hey, it happens), what's best without reducing entry angle hopefully?
AWD unless there is some reason I shouldn't.
Rock rails, worth it?
Roof rack for sure to haul stuff.
16" wheels seem to be an option for performance, worth it for clearance?
