Hello!

I am fixing up my 1998 Land Cruiser, and for some reason it is missing the fabric that holds the seat strap when not in use. Does anyone know if this is a separate part that can be purchased, or has anyone found a fix for this?

The grey interior is the one missing the piece (obviously) and the tan interior is an example of the strap in my 2000. Thanks for the help!

(I have also searched online "band assembly, fold seat stopper" and in Ih8mud to no avail) Thank you!

I was checking my seat upholstery job pics and found this:

Apparently someone was in your seat in the past and removed it, looks like a strap made out of a seatbelt piece and some elastic material, tied in the back with hog rings. It can be fabricated easily if needed.

Wanted to circle back to this post for anyone who finds this in the future:

1. I am an idiot
2. Unlike the 1999-2007 Land Cruiser, the 1998 model year did not have a polyester loop to store the seat straps in. Instead the hook itself is larger and slots directly into the seat bottom plastic.

This is the best way I have found to keep the strap neatly stowed, but I am sure some other 98' owners know the more correct way to do this.

I found this picture in a 1998 Car and Driver article that confirmed that the 1998 model year came like this from the factory.

The 1999-2007 strap design is much better at stowing neatly, and after having three 2000 Land Cruisers, my brain was unable to comprehend the 1998 setup until today. Now I can die in peace.

If you have read this thread, I am sorry.
