Anyone gone into the side mirror lights to modify or change out bulbs? How do you get to them? Would like to change them to LED or something else. Any ideas appreciated?

I have done it, changed it with Amber LEDs....

Easy but be careful!!!!!

Take a flat head screw driver, wrap a rag around it. The bottom of the mirror pull it out as far as you can and put the screw driver up there until it won't go any further, right along the black plastic backing of the mirror. Then twist it.

You will feel it pop out, then by hand start pulling on it. The top clips tuck up in the housing, so when you get to the top part you will need to pull down.

UNDERNEATH YOU PUT A SLEEPING BAG OR SOME PADDING!!!! Cushion is always good when it comes to mirrors!!!!

You will see the light socket, twist it and pull it out.

Don't put too big of a bulb in there, I think the plastic might melt if it gets too hot.

Let me know if this worked for you.

It's been a while but these steps come to mind, cuz I switched the bulbs a couple of times.

Thanks for the info worked out good. I would have been tryin to seperate the black from the silver and never would have thought to just pull the glass out. Of course I can't find LED's to fit them down here. The local bulb guy said he would be getting an order in next week. So guess I'll wait till after GSMTR...

If you go with a regular bulb...

194 is 3 watt
168 is 5 watt

Little brighter, I will try to find the website where I bought my LEDs from.
