$20 or $25 (Still trying to figure out which it is, I've heard both)
Toy or donation get's you in the door for the entire weekend. If you can't make it, but want to donate, let me know and I can see to it that they get the monies or toy.

I'll post a link, or if Dingman can post a link to the flier when it's ready.

I'll be taking the 40 down there, I know there are a few people thinking about going, it would be nice to see a good group of us down there.

I've got 2 exams and a practical the following week, but I'll see if I can swing it. I'd love to go.

Man, I don't miss those days... good luck on your exams if we don't see you down there.

Maybe we should all meet and convoy down there...maybe meet at Hy-vee, get some breakfast and head out.

That would be fun. I am going do do my best to stay ahead so hopefully we'll be able to go. I'd like to meet more of the TCC crew.

Likewise Nicholas!

Hey, I'm kickin' around an idea...I could come down Saturday morning for the day I think... I could do that right? Yes, I would of course still bring $25 or a $25 toy... Let me know.

I believe that if you bring a toy and $25, you can become a member at MIOBI for the year. After that, dues are only $35/year. I'm thinking about going mostly for that reason. MIOBI is close enough - even for me - to make a nice little day wheeling trip three or four times a year with a couple other folks.

I believe that to be correct. My understanding is that anytime after their Memorial Day event, or maybe at the Memorial Day event, you can pay $25 to join for the remainder of the year and the following year is only $35. Dingman or Larry, either of you know the details? Is this information correct?

I am pretty sure you can join the club for $25 after July 1. I did speak with Dan at Tall Corn and he informed me that in the past you could renew your membership at Toys 4 Tots through the following year for $25 instead of the $35 renewal fee. I believe this was confirmed on a thread on the MIOBI forum. Maybe its $50 to join through 2009 at Toys for Tots?

You happen to have that link to the thread on MIOBI with that info? I dug around and couldn't find anything that looked more than speculation, so if you found it, please post.

Thanks Kurt!

EDIT: See my post a little further down.

Art, sorry for the inaccurate info that was in the particular post.

I'm sure that's correct. $25 for the rest of the year, renewal around march for $35. Of course, that's what I remember but I haven't been to many meetings this years, so I'll check to make sure that those are the correct numbers.

Thank You JP!

UPDATE:
I checked and found that -
For new members, they are able to pay $50 and that will cover the rest of this year and all of next year.

And we already knew that for renewing members, it's $35 (next year, when renewal time comes around).

In order to keep things current, even renewing members are required to pay the full $50 if they don't renew by May 30th (this is due to too many members not renewing early in the year and it screws up the cash flow).

I apologize in for the hard to find information on the MIOBI website, I've been working on a new website that will probably go online in 6-8 weeks. It has all new software, things actually "work" instead of being broken and it will be so much easier to find info and easier to use.

BTW, I think you guys know that Toys4Tots requires no money, just the toy ($20 minimum, not $25) and ANYONE can come, so it's a good time for prospective members to check the place out without having to lay out the $50.

HTH.

I looked around and can't find anything either. Maybe I saw it on the newsletter, which I don't have in front of me. Dingman do you have the newsletters on the forum or website?

I know you used to be able to join for $25 after the first half of the year. I posted up some questions on the forum. We'll see who responds and what the answers are.

Do I need to register for this? I think my bro-in-law and I are coming down in the morning and taking off once we're done riding that day.

No pre-registration needed, this is one of the show up when you want to, wheel and leave when you want sorta deals. It's too bad the new Elmo for this year isn't out until October 23rd...

Ya, the info is hidden behind the "Join MIOBI" button the main page. But, like I said, the site isn't set up very well so it's certainly not obvious.

Kurt did get the questions answered (thx Kurt), basically, it's this...

New Members:
$50 from Jan. 1st to July 5th; $25 from July 5th to the Toys for Tots event (third weekend in October).

Special deal for new members only:
Come to the Toys for Tots Event and pay $50 for membership through the rest of the year and all of next year!
Renewing Members:
$35 each year, due by April 1st
