Recently, I purchased five Milestar Patagonia M/T 285/75r16 tires during a special Walmart sale. I really like the looks of the tire and reviews.

Since Walmart Auto Centers in my area are now closed, I took the tires to Discount Tire for mounting and balancing. Of the first three that were balanced, two took over 19 ounces of weight. The balancing machine stopped on the one that required 20 ounces. I told DT so stop so I could return the set.

Anyway, I will be replacing the Patagonias with a set of Cooper MTP from Discount Tire. The rims are new SCS F5s that the DT manager said are perfect.

Walmart has a no-hassle tire return policy that I appreciate.

So any particular reason you are going with the MTP? Looking specifically for a mud-terrain oriented tire or???

I like the local Discount Tire store. After the Patagonias didn't work out, the manager cut me a deal on 5 MTPs to keep me as a customer. The reviews are good for wht I want to do. Let's see how they work out off road and the noise level on road. I have Nitto Terra Graplers that are old and loud. They are about 10 pounds lighter than comparable mud tires. I figured the lighter (56 lb) tire weight will be good with the lighter SCS F5 wheels.

No worries was just curious about why you went with the MTP. I ran S/T Maxx on my old FJ60 and loved them. They have no mileage warranty so I only got about 30k out of them but they were great on and off road and had better noise manners than some of the "AT" tires I have run in the past.

MTPs are mounted and ready for installation this weekend.

Side note. I know some Tacoma owners that recommend and run them aired down when off-roading.
