Mileage Gain from DT headers?

Post #17 has me confused. Do I just remove the two back feet supports and slide the cross rails out the back or do I remove one side bar and pull them out from the side?

I removed the fender flares today after 12 years and will remove the cross bars tomorrow. Hopefully these two changes will assist with my mileage. .5 mpg would be worth it and hopefully it will be more than that.

After removing either the front or rear black feet you also have to remove the bolt holding the rails to the feet. Next, loosen the knobs on the cross bars and slde them out.

Done. Under ten minutes, I lightly pried up on the inside of the cover and they popped right off. I tried pulling them and they did not move at all.

I will report back on mpg's. The test will be slightly skewed as I removed the flares today as well. Not for a mpg gain, just ready for a change in the look and the flares were looking tired.
