Back to back wheeling trips in October! In a few weeks, we have the Mike Sears Memorial Run up at Tuttle Creek ORV area. Here's the down and dirty on the event:

The when:
October 24th, 25th, and 26th, depart on the 27th.
Usually a group of us head into town for breakfast on the 27th and skip wheeling
(I'll probably head down Thursday evening - I need to work until 2:30 that afternoon)

The where:
Camping: Fancy Creek Campground (more on this in a minute)
Off-roading: Tuttle Creek ORV

The what:
Most wheeling occurs Friday and Saturday, although some may wheel Thursday. There is no night wheeling at Tuttle.
The camping situation will be a little different this year. We usually reserve the full "Hidden Hollow" but couldn't get the full loop this year. Instead, we have the following sites available to us Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

* 170, 172, 174, 176, 179 (these are in Hidden Hollow)
* 181, 182, 187, 188, 190

The club has paid for camping but each rig will need to purchase a vehicle pass. The park office has indicated there is a $5 fee per vehicle per day, and you can obtain that pass at the self-pay station, the gate house, or the office if it's open.

Please let us know no later than October 18th whether you will be attending this year.

Edit: there will be a club meal Friday and Saturday night at the bus.

Thanks,

Jack

In for Friday and Saturday.

In Fri and Sat nights

Bump bump! Please let us know if you haven't already if you plan on attending. This year is important due to the slight format change in camping.

Jack

Be there Friday and Saturday.

Please Read:

It looks like we have 14 individuals going, and about 10 campsites, which is great! These numbers aren't terribly different than what we've had in previous years (Hidden Hollow only has 10 campsites as it is...), but due to the camping formalities this week being an open park, we will need to be a bit more diligent about sharing tent spots. I've highlighted what's available below. If you're fine doubling up, let me know or piggyback with someone when you get there.

As a reminder from above: The club has paid for camping but each rig will need to purchase a vehicle pass. The park office has indicated there is a $5 fee per vehicle per day, and you can obtain that pass at the self-pay station, the gate house, or the office if it's open.

Reach out with any questions.

Thanks,

Thursday Friday Saturday for my 2 oldest and I. Friday and Saturday for my youngest and wife.

Are we looking for sides? Assuming pulled pork one night and chile the other?

The menu for Friday and Saturday night is tacos one night and pulled pork sandwiches the other night, I already have all the meat. So all we need is sides. I also have shredded cheese and salsa.

Food items we need for dinner
Buns
Tortillas for tacos
Lettuce and tomatoes and onions
Potato salad, coleslaw etc

I was already planning on bringing tortillas and potato salad and maybe some quac.

Possibly in for Saturday only, need to run an errant that day in the area. Plan to stop by at the OHV park mid morning-ish. Is there a way to find out what trail(s) you're on in the park? I have a GMRS radio on board or cell, no HAM.
