There is a distinct possibility that Jennifers employment at Notre Dame is coming to an end in June 2012. She has family in St. Charles, and we might move that direction. What tips and tricks should we know about where to look for a house, what school system, etc.

Thanks,

Luke

Hey I'm in St.Charles right now...at a client.

In that area, Naperville is prolly the best district. There are really no end to the options in the West burbs. I like areas of Naperville, Downers, Lemont, Lisle, Oakbrook, Hinsdale....

St.Charles is located west enough that you could get away with going farther West on I-88 and getting a more "country" setting with big land and a shop, etc... Plus much more bang for your buck!

move to green oaks, close enough to st chucks, but far enough to be out of reach from family... not to mention there are three cruisers at least in town...

I knows a guy in Naperville

Me too, that's why I'm staying away from there.:p

And Eric- if we do move, I'm gonna ask your advice on job openings you're aware of. But, Green Oaks is likely out of our price range. Need to keep the mortgage payment from being "choke-rrific".

We looked all over. Naperville was the best we found. Bit spendier than elkhart. St chuck is ok. Geneva and batavia too. My neighbor is looking for a hvac tech.

Everything is spendier than Elkhart. We have a ridiculously low "cost-of-living".

In regards to an HVAC tech job... I might leave not only the family business, but this entire industry and go back to school for something else. Might need to stay employed in HVAC/Plumbing just to keep the bills paid for awhile, so you never know.

Thanks for that advice, Tony Einstein!

:)

I have couple connections in the building business locally... slow times but guessing there can be an opportunity up here. Green Oaks is a little pricey but there are some affordable pads locally. I am possibly moving to Libertyville and there are homes there at all price ranges.

Just do some realtor.com time and ou wil get a sense of where you can go and get what you want. I am up here for my family and business. if not for these reasons, I would be out west tomorrow.

Good luck with the move.

I would stay in Indiana just for the property tax reasons. I live just over the border from IL and love it. I can be in the city in 35 minutes if I need too....but why would I wanna go there anyways :D

NW IN has the great metropolitan area of Gary. World renowned for it's awesomeness.

Its a beautiful place to spend an evening, wonderful culture and people. Plus the police let you run red lights. In fact they've recommended it to me. I look forward to accidentally getting off the wrong exit again, on the way home from Ohio at 1am.
