Just making sure...before i buy...the cobra 75wxst will hang on a regular cb mount/button and has an all ways on backlight whereas the Midland 75-822 needs a special mount and only has a momentary backlight?

....yes. I have this model. I haven't used it enough to know if I like it, but it is backlit. I purchase one of these to hang it on Gamiviti - custom mic holders

Cobra 75 will hang on any mic hanger. To tell the truth, I've never noticed if mine is back-lit or not - never used it at night (never have it in the truck except when on a group trail run).
