Was wondering if anyone is planning on going out this Sunday or Monday? I was think it might be a good use of time to hit something. Not too picky but was thinking something a little higher in elevation like Desoto mine or Sunflower mine.

I took the family out up about 20 miles passed seven springs then east about 18 miles to the Dirty Verde along Tangle Creek. There were some people out there but we managed to avoid the crowd.
Next day we drove out the Great Western Trail / Bloody Basin Road through Aqua Fria and to the 17. This was about 38 miles. I'm sure you all have driven it, but I have to say that road is amazing. What an awesome climb.
Although I didn't get to see the awesomeness, I met a fellow driving out who did try crossing the river in his basically stock half ton chevy pickup. Shall, I say...river crossing FAIL.
He had to ride out, rent a truck, get a buddy and go save it this weekend. I smiled when he said, "I used to cross it all the time in my Toyota." Yeah maybe when the water system isn't 1 foot below capacity.
Hope all had a great Memorial Day with family. My folks and my kids went out to explore the Sunflower Mine area. Had a great time and nice weather. I was a little surprised at the extent of the road to the mine. We came out the same way we went in due to time restrictions and not having a bigger group. Have heard different reviews of the rest of the loop. Here are a few of the pictures we took and I will try and get a video up later
