Not all of your members are TLCA members? Shame on you Brian. You mean you don't hold a gun to their heads and make them join. What kind of sissy club are you in? (for those of you who can't understand sarcasm, I'm joking). I don't think there is any TLCA club that really has 100% TLCA membership and I really don't think it would be a very fun thing to try to enforce. You lay the information out on the table, some folks pick it up, others don't. You want to go wheeling with these folks don't you? I can just imagine the fun trips you'd have if your forced somebody into joining.
The organization definitely has problems. Right now is the time to fix them. If they don't get fixed now you may as well say goodbye and everything goes in the toilet. I'm on the BOD, I'm the current EVP. I've only been involved for a year. There have been many times that I've been wanting to throw in the towel and give it all up, including my membership. I've just figured that eventually we would hit light again. There have been times that I have been ashamed to have been associated with this organization. This year will be the defining year. Either we get back the magic or we toss it all away. The BOD has a lot of new people and with these new people comes a lot of energy and new ideas. Hopefully, we can work together and step things up. We have a new editor and new face behind the emails and the phone. Hopefully, we can keep everything in check and satisfy most everyone.
Brian, I'm sorry I didn't check this out sooner. I get lost in the tech stuff and the classifieds. I'm always looking for something, but not usually an arguement.
Thanks for all of the info and suggestions. I'll keep this stuff in the back of my head as I try to help the organization this year. I always answer emails and I try my best to help people out when I can. Feel free to email me your concerns.
