Well, with it being 2021, it should be possible to legally import and register these now if they're from 1996. However I doubt it's a 1996 since it has a Hino N04c instead of a Toyota 15B-FT. I'm guessing it's a 1999 or later, but I don't exactly know when they switched engines in these.

I'd love to see what I could put on that frame with the 15B-FT. Would make for a great land cruiser pickup body of some vintage. 40 or 70 series?

I thought that was the 15-FTE ? Is the Hino you mentioned the same as? Please excuse my ignorance

Early ones like 1996 had the 15B-FT, later they switched to the 15B-FTE and then to the N04c. The N04c has some parts interchangeability, and I've heard it's basically a development of the 15B-FTE, but I don't really know the details of what's different. (it is a slightly smaller displacement 4.0L vs 4.1L, and it's a common rail injection system) But the red valve cover makes them easy to spot.
