OK, so here is the update from today’s meeting. (this in no means is intended to be the official minutes, just some ramblings from me)
First, a big thanks to OB for getting the meeting together. Thanks dude.
We had a decent turnout and got to meet some new faces.
We ran through some stats and numbers on where the club is. Discussed email lists and number of members etc. Also, one thing that I did not mention today, is the ih8mud.com forum that was set up for the club, while only having 46 posts in it has ~ 4,000 views!!
We briefly touched on the club events of: Memorial Day at Dave’s, CMCC and Labor Day at Dave’s.
Final nominations were:
President – Brian O’Laughlin
Vice President – Mike Stevens
Secretary – Bob Lopez, Joe Jennings (did not confirm that he accepted this nomination) and Jason Janowitz
Treasurer – Bob Lopez
TLCA Delegate – Brian Phillips (did not confirm that he accepted this nomination) and Tom Humphries
New officers of the club:
President – Brian O’Laughlin
Vice President – Mike Stevens
Secretary –Jason Janowitz
Treasurer – Bob Lopez
TLCA Delegate –Tom Humphries
Congrats guys! You’ll do a great job.
Non-elected positions of the club:
Web Dude – Ian Coffee and Bob Chang expressed interest in assisting here
Event Director – Mike Kear offered to assist here
Registration Director – no current volunteers
Membership/Media Director – Mark Woytovich expressed an interest in assisting here
We also covered some ideas on how to improve the morning logistics at CMCC focusing on increasing the speed of getting folks onto the trail and the recommendation was tossed about to hire 2 trail guides for Fri and Sat to assist in leading trails and with the organization during both those mornings. We will continue to look for volunteer trail leaders as in the past, but these two should help further reduce individual groups to a smaller size.
We had a raffle for paid club members in attendance. Todd Oldenburg won the Optima Red Top battery (Todd, please email me what model number you’d like and I’ll call Chuck for you).
Those that are owed shirts, OB and Brian will be following up with you to make sure you receive your’s.
Folks, I know I may not have been easy to deal with over the last year (heck most of you may say much longer than that), but it was a pleasure to assist in helping run the club. The new officers are going to do a great job, but please remember to volunteer to help as frequently as you can.
