Just bought a FJ62 two weeks ago and love it. Submitted my new membership application because YT seems like a great group of people and it'll be fun to go out on some runs. Plus I'm hoping to learn something from everyone. Bought this as a second vehicle to mainly use as a hunting/camping rig. The wife named him George (as in Washington).
Besides the 31" BFGs he's pretty much stock. Has some rusty patches and the frame is pretty rusted by not rotten. Immediate plans are to clean the frame and paint on POR15; install a OME lift (springs are flat and bushings are shot); and run new hard fuel/brake lines. Now to find a place to do the work because living in South Boston and only having street parking doesn't bode well to wrenching on an old truck.
First stop to pick up some beer.
