Anybody know an honest mechanic in Truckee that can fix the brakes on a 76 FJ40?
Somebody found me through my contact info on TLCA.org asking for help. They don't sound like car people so a mechanic might be the best answer for them.
From what they said it sounds like the rear adjusters are rusted, one wheel seized, and it may need a new master cylinder. Based on what I was told I don't think it's ever had a full brake job, 100 miles a year average use, kept garaged in Truckee, smog and top off the fluids once a year.
(I know right? I was tempted to tell them it was a lost cause and I would haul it away if they gave me $100.
