Hey, everyone -

I am getting back into my '76 FJ40 which has been sitting for 3 years or so. My usual mechanic in Sedona, Desert Auto has switched owners and is no longer an FJ40 shop.

Any suggestions for some serious work? I'm thinking rebuild the engine, new exhaust, electrical work, etc.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply.

Actually, the place you mention WAS a great cruiser place called Desert Auto on Airport Road. Sadly, it has switched owners and is not cruiser-oriented anymore.

:)

Thanks! Do I contact him through this board?

I'm still learnin' it.

Yep, just send him a PM. On the top of this page there is a link right below where it says Welcome Greenskeeper76 that says private messages. Click on that and find the tab that says send new message.

LOL! I was afraid that might be the case.

Don't suppose yours was the pale green beauty I saw there that day?

No, but I think I know the one you mean.

Mine is a "white-ish" '76 with either no top and no doors or a tan Tiger Top. Like a moron, I sold my hard top & doors one dark day in Tennessee when the roof messed up my back for the LAST time.

Of course, I regret selling it terribly!!

R&A Imports in Flagstaff seems to have a good reputation. I always see Toyota cars, trucks and LCs there.

i wish I could have recommended my dad. He's a retired ASE Master Tech and he installed my entire S-10 Fuel injection from a box of salvaged S-10 parts I got off ebay and a Downey installation manual. He's in Flagstaff but I called him and he refuses to work on cars anymore unless they're his (or mine). Sorry, wish I could help out.
