Mechanic in Raleigh

Anyone in the Raleigh area know a good place to take a Heep? I know, blasphemy, but my nephew that lives there has a 84 CJ8 that has some issues. He just graduated from NC State and I'm wanting him down for the April 14th ride. He's from Williamsburg Va and doesn't know where to have it looked at that won't burn him a new one. Suggestions would be appreciated!

Boyce Mcaskill Automotive on Capital Blvd. It is off of Hobby Court and I think you can find the information and number on one of the sticky threads for the club info. I will see if I can locate boyce's number, great crowd who knows cruisers in and out and jeeps very well. Treats you right.

He rebuilt an engine for me in my old yukon that had 194K miles on it when i sold it and still ran great. Also regeared my yukon and did a great job at a decent price.

Thanks Greg and Parker, I sent him a link to this thread so he can see both options. And anything else that gets posted. He also has a nice woody wagoneer he recently purchased; so he needs to find a good shop. The CJ does have a 4" lift with rear locker on 33's and he's itching to bring to URE's. If we get him around the club and he sees what the LC's can do on the trail, I'm hoping he will ditch the Heep and buy a Toyota. Then he can join ONSC!!!

If i was not completely swamped right now ( good thing ) i would take a look at it. Worked at one of those shops for awhile back in the day.

Those shops i meant a Heep / 4x4 shop here in Nam. Worked there part time while i was in, and got to work on pretty much anything that was 4x4.

Darin, I thought about you but his issues, I believe, are minor. And the fact you are down in Raeford! He said his oil pan might be leaking (hopefully that is all) and the drain plug is stripped. Also, some oil is blowing in the air filter housing, which might just be a PCV, right? If he finds out it is something serious, I will have him give you a call.
