Dismantling interior in prep for new carpet. Was removing middle seat behind drivers seat. When I picked it up and tilted it to the rear and downward (laying it flat), it sounded like some things came loose on the inside of the seat and is moving around. Whatever it is it sounds small. Maybe it's something the previous owners kids somehow forced into the seat. Not sure where or how they would've got something in their, but have kids and wonder how they manage to do some things all the time.

So, is there anything anyone knows about that would come loose interior to the back seats when being removed? Are you not suppose to tilt or angle them a certain way when removing? 2 main concerns....(1) an ongoing rattle when reinstalled and (2) some sort of spring retaining clips have come loose and the seats will not fold up and down when reinstalled.

Any thoughts?

Well here's one thought......

Let the smart a$$ comments begin. I've already heard some from my wife.....like I should swallow some coal so I can make diamonds. Yes, she really said that.

I know I am a little OCD about things.

I've got lots of coins floating around in my middle seats and the only time you hear them is when folding the seats up/down. Have never heard them jingling while in motion as the truck makes many other (louder) noises to drown it out. There was a recent post about someone removing their seats and "emptying" them out. They found Skittles, some toys, and some coins IIRC. Might be worth a search for that particular thread.

I took my second row seats completely apart when I bought my '05 LC last fall and found about 5 lbs of chex mix, tons of coins, hair bands, toys, even a Nintendo DS game cartridge. All glued together with sticky, smelly apple juice or something that turned brown.

It was lots of work but well worth it knowing all that crud is not sitting in there fermenting during the hot Texas summer. Probably smells better as well.

There are a few threads that show photos, but I used the FSM to take everything apart and put it back together again.
