Temp gauge on the dash has always been pegged to H. A lot of the fluid was either coming from a hose or the bottom of the pump.

I wouldn't be running without a temp and oil pressure gauge. Aftermarkets are cheap, very reliable, and accurate

I was finally able to look under the hood last night and found the culprit. The hose that goes into the thermostat split on the bottom.

If you suspect other leaks, the UV dye works really well! I had multiple leak locations and ended up just replacing all of the hoses, the radiator, and the water pump.

i did the same on my 62.
I called Jamie at Sparks and ordered all new water hoses.
There are lots on the 62.

curious about the rebuild decision. I'm running low 100 compression numbers and could be facing the same decision sooner rather than later. I'd love to have a diesel - but dont want to go thru that with this truck. Maybe my next -40...

I'm taking it to Marshall and going to have him work on that one cylinder. I don't think i need to re-build now after Davis checked the compression.
