Hi Guys, I'm my LJ 71 is in the shop getting a bit of trail rash beaten out & I'm thinking of doing a full repaint in matt army green. The stock two tone metallic paint is still fairly solid but is going white in a few places & I never liked the brown on brown look much anyway.

The job doesn't have to be perfect, I do want a durable finish though. I'll probably have a go at doing it myself, I've got a reasonable compressor & a couple of old sprayguns, I might look at buying a decent spaygun for the job too.

So what type of paint am I best to use & what prep work should I do?

Cheers
Clint

there are low gloss clears and flattening agents availble from PPG and Dupont and probably others...

what sets upart "cheap" paint jobs from the "world class" paint jobs is the amount of prep work, you don't have to spend top dollar on best materials either, make sure that you go with compatable materials and should stay with one brand if possible,

get to know your local paint store sales people and most of them will go to great lengths to help you to pick your products and give pointers on how to do you project.
