UPDATE: I ended up getting a Kenwood Excelon Reference XR901-5 amp which is rated for 60W @4 ohm (so 30w @ 8 ohm) and it's definitely enough but I wouldn't recommend going with much less than that.

ORIGINAL POST: Anyone know how much power the 8-ohm Mark Levinson speakers require? My factory amp blew and I am switching to an aftermarket head unit (T'Eyes) with a standalone amp, but am unsure how much power I'm going to need to run them well. Would an amp rated at 50w/channel at 4 ohms (so, 25w/channel @8 ohms) be enough?

Yes, I know I should just use new 4-ohm speakers, but I just re-foamed the factory ones and they sound good for now...

Its a huge difference with new speakers. You're really missing a lot by doing all the hard parts but leaving factory speakers.
