Mark Levinson Compatability between Lexus Models?

Hey guys, pretty sure my ML amp is dead, too bad i have nav too or else i'd bypass this pile of fecal matter but with the nav and my climate control tied to it, it'd be very difficult. So i'm looking at a replacement amp on ebay, the ones listed for LX470 specifically are over $500 for a used one!


Then i found a few more listing for other lexus models, and looking at the connection on the back of the amp, it is exactly identical. They are much cheaper at around 100-200, anyone have any experience with this?

I even counted the little pins, they're all exactly the same...

I don't want to spend 500, $150, maybe $200 i can swallow.

Ship your amp to them, pay them to fix it, you'll get a guarantee instead of taking a chance on an eBay special, and you'll have your Levinson system back the way it was intended. I've used them a couple times.. once on a factory BMW e36 radio.. and they were great. The Levinson audio is wonderful, and not because it says "Levinson." It's about the most natural sounding audio system I've ever heard in a vehicle, and I love mine. Not sure why it gets such a bad rap here.. unless it's because you can't really monkey with it and "improve" it.

Just my advice. I live about 15 miles away from United Radio, but I have no ties with them. Just have been very happy with their work in the past.

I stumbled on this thread - I have a FJ62, so no dog in this fight. However, another option may be LKQ.com - I don't know what they charge, but they have yards all over the country, parts are guaranteed, and this should fall under their free shipping.
