So my truck just said this to me out of the blue while I was driving. Then it would go back to maps. Then back to error screen. Then back to maps. I decided to disconnect my battery to reset things. And when I started my car, the screen came up...worse.

20 minutes prior to first seeing this problem, I got a remote start installed. 1 month ago, I put in a nav disc from eBay. Disc worked fine for a month. Remote start guys said they played with ignition wires and didn't go anywhere near the nav. Any ideas? I wish I saved my out dated nav disc just to make sure it's not the new disc... Is there a way to clean out my nav disc drive safely? Compressed air or laser cleaner of some sort? This problem seems potentially costly.

Bummer. What generation nav? I've got an OEM Gen 4 DVD with 2011 map data I could send you right away if that would help. But, since the problem showed up right after the remote start install, seems likely that's the cause. Good installer? PM me if you want the disk.

Great installer, I thought. Same guy, same shop, same product that GregLCA used and did a write up on with pictures. Greg was the reason I went with these guys. Knowing they had recent experience with a lc100 was a huge plus for me. I've got a new nav disc coming in the mail right now.

Might have to research, buy and try some kind of cleaning disc.

I'm worried about that second photo in your post. That doesn't look like something caused by a bad DVD, which is what I would expect with that first photo. Loose connection, bad ground? However, I hope the new OEM DVD fixes it.
