manual hub swap (1 Viewer)

OK, my front diff went south-AGAIN!!! Stupid ADD!!!
Now I 'm going to do it right by swapping to manual locking hubs. What parts will I need?
New diff-which I'll need anyway-, new axles (?). Anything else?

I plan on hitting the junkyards and for sale section here and TTORA.

What year and model truck? 2nd gen. runners and trucks are alot easier to do than 3rd gen runners and Tacomas.

Guess I should have mentioned the year-96.

However, the diff wasn't toasted, the axle was pried out by ice (puddles plus subfreezing temps).

I did find a parts list on Tacomaterritory.com. Axles, spindles and hubs will do the trick.

Dunno for sure, but it was a direct swap for a non add diff from a 87 4runner into my t100. I reused the T100 CV shafts, but it was really easy.

I am not sure of the differences in 96...

Is this for a Taco? I did this on my 98 Taco and then just swapped the parts onto the 03 Taco The first time was alot harder than the second time. You will need a good press. it took me about 8hrs the first side, and slightly less the second side. But then anytime I start something "easy" it will take me at least twice as long. Oh yeah, If you go junk yard route, you got to make sure the donor has ABS if yours has ABS, if not not a problem
