I have located a 2004 Ash Blue Mica Metallic GX 470 close to me, advertised on Craigslist. After talking with present owner, he gave me the odo reading (275K) along with VIN (JTJBT20X640052762). When I used VIN on Lexus Owners website there was a gap in the maintenance records (Oct 2007 to Mar 2016) with no records. Is there any way to see if records DID exist during this 10 year span?

Present owner was quite upfront on his maintenance of the vehicle, so I think this vehicle may be a good choice, after I look at it, of course.

Not many people bring past warranty work to dealer. Some people have big concerns about it but not me. I for sure don't keep meticulous record of any DIY maintenance I did.

Unless he has records from that time or can tell you where it was taken and you call them and they're willing to provide, I don't think there is a way.
Best way to check condition is pull dipstick, see what brand oil filter used- OEM, Bosch, Mobil 1? They spent money maintaining it, or at least when they did, they used better quality parts.

Key things are timing belt/water pump, AHC service and cv axles (I may be forgetting some things).

See if you can get it for$4500-$5k?
