I am a relatively new Mud Member and FZJ80 owner. Currently, I am planning a trip to mainland Mexico leaving around mid January. The plan is to spend about 2 weeks around Puerto Vallarta, and visit Jalisco’s Tequila trail, and do some jungle and beach offroad trails and explorations in the area.) I will take a surfboard in case the waves are good along the way. As far as trails are concerned, I found a local website with trail locations around http://vallarta4x4.org/index.html. (One story recorded on the site has the local off road club using their rigs to take medical care, clothes and other supplies to the native people high in the sierra, great idea.) Check out some of the pretty cool pics of jungle trail runs with river crossings....Anybody care to join me on this mainland Mexico trip?
In the past, I’ve driven as far down as Michoacan on surf trips. I’ve also drive down the tip of Baja’s peninsula and taken the ferry across into Mazatlan…..So I am familiar with the surroundings.
