This is a simple question: is there a direction to install the Magnaflow 99006HM converter. There is no identified In or Out. Does it matter? If yes, how can In be identified. Thanks Dan

I am starting the project (finally). The new muffler is in place and the first cat cut off from the y-pipe at the weld. the plan is to raise the cat about 1.5 inches:

____
__/ \___

Y Cat Muffler

A new flange will be welded to the y-pipe and flanges added to the pipe-cat-pipe assembly. The PO had banged the cats pretty hard and there was repair welding on both the front cat and the muffler behind the 2nd cat. I hope this raises it sufficiently to be out of the way.

Two questions:

1. is 2 inches clearance sufficient between the cat and the shield?

2. does the direction of the flow matter through the Magnaflow cat

Thanks - Dan

no in and out for cat. convertors.

install complete

After much measuring trial and error the converter is in. The cat is above the frame and there are no codes after 3000 miles. The only remaining touch up is one small pin hole leak on one of the welds. Dan
