Convince me to keep the brakes on my M101CDN........

So I've had my trailer for about a year - gave myself that much of a grace period to get used to the trailer and thoroughly think out any mods I might make. Like many others here I've decided to swap hubs to match the bolt pattern on the 80. However, I don't use the parking brake - partly because I've never been in a situation that I felt I needed it - but mostly because they don't work - they're pretty much shot.

So - as I ponder my upcoming swap is it worth the $$$ and the effort to restore the brakes?? Would I be losing something other than just the coolness factor?? Is the approximately 100 pounds in trailer weight reduction going to make a noticeable difference??

I wouldn't remove it. There are too many situations where a brake is handy, plus it negates the need for tire blocks.

After trying to find the right cables. Jerry rigging a different type of cable and having one of the brakes sticking all the time I took all my brakes off. If you can find the right cable I would used the brakes.

for those with roof top tent on there trailers and want to sleep on them. the brakes help you keep the trailer level in the bush. pull the trailer on some rocks to level it out and pull the brake.
