Ok - as promised in another thread...
I picked up this sweek M101 CDN from a friend, board member here on mud and portal. He had two and was building up this one.
What was done already when I bought it - spring over axle, 6 lug hubs to match cruiser, Yota rims to match cruiser, 255/85/16 Mud terrain tires, extended tongue, lock-n-roll coupler.
What little I've done so far. Borrowed the BIL's pressure washer and blasted the entire trailer top to bottom as clean as possible. Washed it and paid attention to greasy dirty areas and scrubbed with Simple Green and pressure washed again to make sure it was squeaky clean for painting.
Lightly sanded the inside tub and hit it with a couple of cans of Rustoleum Rusty Primer to take care of what little rust was there. Then, with the help of three other guys, flipped the trailer over onto it's top, removed the wheels and carried it into the garage for refurb/painting of the underbody and tongue. Wire wheeled and sanded the springs, axle, frame and tongue and then hit that all with more Rusty Primer. Sorry no pics of the underbody in that state. Then hit it all with 3 coats of Rustoleum Gloss Black and then flipped it back over onto it's wheels to begin the tub paint job. Also sprayed the underside of the fender flairs with a coat of Duplicolor rubberized underbody coating.
Here are pics of the completed underbody and one pic of it back on it's wheels ready to begin the tub painting which will start this week with a light wet sanding of the PO's rattle can green paint b4 primer and gloss white paint to match my cruiser.
Plan is for white tub interior and exterior, black on the tongue and bottom frame and durabak on the fender flares (to match what I've done on the cruiser).
I've also painted all the tie down hooks and tail light brackets on the exterior gloss black as well as the tie down hooks that go in the interior. Should provide a nice contrast - white body with the black tie down hooks interior and exterior. I've replaced all the rusting nuts/bolts with SS hardware and have new LED tail lights for it as well. Cruiser has a habit of popping the light fuse when a trailer is attached. Extra lights of the trailer/ARB rear/Kaymar front just overload that fuse. LED's on the trailer solved that with the scout trailer I've towed, so doing that for this trailer as well. Besides, LED's are much brighter IMHO.
