I recently purchased a 2010 LX570 for my wife and having some AC troubles I need to resolve ASAP, she’s always carrying around our 3yo and 3 month old.
Whenever I have the hood open I don’t seem to have an issue, but with the hood closed when it’s hot and idling for a few minutes, the AC light starts blinking and compressor turns itself off. I read fan clutches go bad over time but I tested with the paper trick and it sucks it against the condenser very well. My engine temps also seem within spec, 190.
At 91 F ambient and idling with driver door open, fan speed max, temp low, I get 55 at the center vent, 38 psi low side 200 high. This is after I vacuumed and recharged. I replaced the Schrader valves and dessicant bag. The vacuum I pulled decayed from 30 to 29 over 2 hours so I am worried about a leak and added dye during recharge but this was a few days ago and didn’t think Freon would leak down fast enough to cause the current issue. I also swapped the MG CLT and CDS FAN relay to no change.
The condenser fan speed is visually slow, should I start there or do my pressures look way off?
The fault codes for the AC are B1421, B1424, B1449 for the light sensors and rear position so unrelated to current issues. The 2 TS pictures are while the compressor is on and after it cuts itself off.
I can swap parts all day long but trying to find where to start with this has been tough, I’ve read a ton already to get to this point. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don’t want to just slap a compressor on there and hope it fixes it.
