There is some somewhat of a bias against KO2s which is not really founded in anything in particular but the fact that they've been around a while and they aren't particularly sexy. There are a bunch of anecdotes and opinions and some internet reviews.
But tires are a lot like shoes, everybody's feet are different and at the end of the day there is always somebody that can kick your ass in a race wearing nothing but flip flops.
The only time I've ever thought about my tires are when I air down/up on trails, wash the car, or somebody on here asks about them. Beyond that they have been fine - quiet on the highway, great in the snow, great in the rain, great in the mud, great in dirt, sand, and rock. There are probably a lot of folks on here that have never owned them that have had different experiences than me somehow. Se la vie.
You may consider 285/75/17. To me it’s the sweet spot on +25 wheels, but it requires a little massaging of the fender liner and possible a mud flap removal or two.
