LX570: 17 inch Wheels... Which tires?

I always loved the BFG ko's in the Cali mountains and in the sand until I used them in the snow. Just standing still the whole vehicle suddenly slid sideways and almost went over the cliff. Great sand tire but never again in snow.

Hi Everyone - my wife liked the end result of my exterior "makeover" of my 2008 LC (seen below) and to my surprise, she has asked me to give her black 09 LX a bit of an update.

For her 09 black LX I am thinking chrome delete, running board removal, and new wheels & tires. We are going to go with the 17inch bronze Icon compressor wheels <Compression / Bronze - 17in - Icon Alloys - Icon Vehicle Dynamics - https://iconvehicledynamics.com/wheel/11912/icon-alloys-compression/2017855557BR/?finishID=4616> I have seen these on a few 200s on this site and love the look. I am looking for some advice on tires. I know everyone hates a tire size question on this board. I have spent dozens of hours on this site over the years and have found exactly what I needed for my 200 above and my old 100 series for various topics. However, I think finding examples of how wheel/tire combos actually look on LXs is a bit more ambiguous... partially because many people like to post pics of their LX with AHC in Hi mode.

I am looking for your thoughts and perhaps photos of what brand and size A/T tire I should consider to match with 17 inch wheels. Primary goal here is to have a good looking tire wrapped around those 17s that is not completely slammed and taking up the entire wheel well in neutral AHC position. We will not be doing a sensor lift as of now. Mainly because I don't wrench and I have trouble finding technicians in the Birmingham area that don't look at me funny when I mention something a bit outside the box like that service (we might head to ACC in Atlanta in the future). Appreciate any thoughts you have!
Thank you for your post! I Believe that you have Tundra Wheels 18” on your LX. Is that correct? Did you use spacers? What size tires are they?

There is some somewhat of a bias against KO2s which is not really founded in anything in particular but the fact that they've been around a while and they aren't particularly sexy. There are a bunch of anecdotes and opinions and some internet reviews.

But tires are a lot like shoes, everybody's feet are different and at the end of the day there is always somebody that can kick your ass in a race wearing nothing but flip flops.

The only time I've ever thought about my tires are when I air down/up on trails, wash the car, or somebody on here asks about them. Beyond that they have been fine - quiet on the highway, great in the snow, great in the rain, great in the mud, great in dirt, sand, and rock. There are probably a lot of folks on here that have never owned them that have had different experiences than me somehow. Se la vie.

You may consider 285/75/17. To me it’s the sweet spot on +25 wheels, but it requires a little massaging of the fender liner and possible a mud flap removal or two.
