Hi all,

I've got a pesky bit of rust right beneath my rear window seal, behind the window wiper. What's the process to remove the rear window / put the window back in once done? Any special tools required? I'm assuming it's something like peal off the rubber seal, then just pop it out but wanted to be sure there's no hidden tricks?

Cheers.

It’s glue in. Get a little piano wire through the glue and slice it out.

Cheers mate. I'm assuming that would mean it needs to be reglued in too.

Yes it needs to be reglued. I redid mine because of a leak. Cleaning the old glue off is the hardest part. Don't do like I did and scrape the defroster grid off while cleaning up the messy adhesive.

Cheers for the tips gents. I'll give it a crack over the next couple of weekends.

Has anyone found any videos or write ups to help in this process? My Wife's rear window sounds like it's about to come out on it's own when you shut the back hatch and the outer seal around it was not pushed in very far when we bought it. So much so that on the upper left corner around the window, driver side, you can feel the outer edge, or lip, raised a bit outside of the depression in which the seal and window are seated in when you run your hand from the top of the hatch down. It's basically made a tiny gutter to catch water rather than being tucked into the depression as I've seen on multiple other 100 series'. I check them every time I see one to try and get a good picture of how the rear/hatch rubber window seal should be seated, properly. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
